Our easy online reservation system requires customers to rent their bear spray canister in advance for a specific duration with the pickup/drop-off at a specific location. With this data, we can accurately report both the date and number of people that will be arriving to pickup their rental. Since many of our customers are vacationing from out of state, they will likely be picking up the bear spray soon after arrival and returning it prior to departing. These are both prime opportunities for additional sales as the customer will likely be looking for other goods and services.

We Also Supply the Stock and the Transaction
Our systems and processes manage what is needed. We know where and when canisters are needed and ensure our affiliates have adequate stock to supply the customer as they arrive to pickup their rental.
Since everything is handled online before the customer arrives, the check-out/check-in process is simple and quick. It won’t be a burden on either your staff or, more importantly, the customer who will be free to roam your store for other items they will likely need on their trip or the return flight home.

Everyone, including the customer, wins with this arrangement. Furthermore, there are additional “winners” to consider with there being an easy supply of bear spray canisters available to people who are visiting Alaska. Since people are not allowed to fly with bear spray, there will be less “purchased” canisters ending up in the landfills when people have to dispose of them before leaving. It is also better for our bear population when non-lethal deterrents are being used to manage the occasional aggressive bear. Having bear spray easily available or more affordable will increase the number of people who are prepared to properly respond to a critical situation. This ultimately helps the image of our state as nobody likes to read in the news about human/bear encounters that end with a fatality.
